Creating a Meta token

  1. Open Meta Business Settings → Users → System users.
  2. Add a system user with the Admin role, or pick an existing one.
  3. Click Assign assets → Ad accounts, select your ad accounts and turn on Manage ad accounts (or View performance for read-only).
  4. Click Generate token, choose any app of your business, set expiration to Never, and tick ads_read, plus ads_management if you want Auto-pilot to apply changes.
  5. Paste the token in Ads Manager's setup guide. It checks the token and lists the ad accounts it can see.

Creating an App Store Connect key

  1. Open App Store Connect → Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API.
  2. Under Team Keys, click + and create a key with the Finance role (Admin also works).
  3. Download the .p8 file (Apple only allows one download) and copy the Issuer ID.
  4. Find your vendor number in Payments and Financial Reports, top left.
  5. Import the .p8 in the setup guide. The Key ID is read from the file name.

Common questions

Why are yesterday's installs missing?

Apple publishes each day's sales report the following morning, so the latest day appears a few hours into the next day.

Why don't installs match what Meta shows?

Ads Manager uses App Store sales reports, which count every install, organic ones included. Lift compares installs in a campaign's countries before and after it started, to estimate what the ads added.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Purchases are managed by Apple. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple account subscriptions.

Does the iPhone app sync with the Mac?

Yes. With the same Apple Account and iCloud Keychain turned on, your accounts and keys appear on both devices.
